Conshohocken Physical Therapy is the only facility in the immediate area utilizing a state of the art Endless Pool
to aid patients rehabilitative needs.
An Endless Pool is sometimes referred to as a treadmill for swimmers. It provides a constant adjustable swim
current that is incorporated into aquatic therapy programs. For those suffering from arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS,
osteoporosis and orthopedic injuries, water therapy has become an essential part of building strength and range
of motion while minimizing pain.
Since the water supports an individual’s weight, it is possible to strengthen and tone muscles without putting stress
on joints. In addition, water therapy helps decrease swelling and increase circulation, endurance, flexibility, range
of motion, balance and coordination.
Patients:
Each patient is evaluated on land prior to initiating Aquatic Therapy. Then, an individualized treatment program
with a specific plan and goals is designed and implemented based upon the results of the evaluation.
The primary goal of Aquatic Therapy is to become independent with an appropriate aquatic therapy exercise
program that can be continued safely after discharge.
